This is an amazing, sophisticated and very rare necklace from Chanel. It is made from faceted multi-strand beads, braided and twisted into an intricate collar which is sumptuous and totally chic. It has a central square motif that evokes the Byzantine period, with its eight roughcut resin round and square faux amber stones in a goldtone setting, and with a central round disc with 'CHANEL' written across it multiple times in a medieval script using the intaglio method.

There is a beautiful, elaborate clasp with a round amber stone embellished with the CC logo, and a three ring extension chain and hook fastening.

Total length of necklace is 19" (48cms), including a 2" extension chain. The central motif is 2" square (5cms by 5cms).

Signed and dated on an oval plaque attached to the extension chain. From Autumn/Winter 1999 Haute Couture Collection (99A).

This amazing necklace is in excellent condition and comes safely packed in its own Chanel box.
